Who is your God? Throughout the ages there have been many religions, and all have had a named God from Ashtoreth to Zeus. However, this is not true for today’s Christianity. Modern Christianity supposedly has its roots in the Bible, but this is far from true. For if the Bible was its foundation, then today’s Christians would or should know what it says. Go into any Christian church, and ask the people a simple question, “Who is your God?”. After giving you a strange look they will respond “God”. Evidently their God is generic, does not have a name. They not only are ignorant of the name of the God in the Bible, but also of His law and commands. It is no wonder their religion is powerless against the onslaught of evil. These are a people worshiping a generic God, and following theological dogma.
Biblical Christianity is very different from modern Christianity in that the God of the Bible does have a name, a law, and a people. Ignorance of this has had disastrous results. The Bible says, ”My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” (Hosea 4:6) Our generation has been forgotten because it has forgotten who is their God. Generic is no good! The name is all important.
YAHWAH is the Name of God in the Bible
Did you know the name of the God of the Bible? YAHWAH is God's name and is first given in Genesis 2:4. “These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,”. But where is the name in this verse? Remember that the scripture quoted is in English, and is a translation from another language. Looking at the original Hebrew reveals the true name of God, and it is not a generic term “Lord God”, but “YAHWAH ELOHEEM”. Hundreds and hundreds of times “YAHWAH ELOHEEM” is mistranslated “Lord God” in the Bible. It is imperative that we call upon the name of our God “YAHWAH ELOHEEM” for His help. What kind of results would you have if you sent a letter addressed “man”, or if you told the operator to give you the number of “man”. Generic will NEVER work!
The name YAHWAH ELOHEEM is very specific just like Dewey Tucker is very specific. The name Dewey Tucker not only reveals the family - Tucker, but also the individual in that family, Dewey. So we know that ELOHEEM is the family, and that YAHWAH is the individual in that family.
